This is another great place in LR. It can have a wait and the service can be slow on occasion-but it is worth it. My favorite is the green apple maytag w chicken. The chicken is flavorful and juicy. Another favorite is the chicken sandwich. But don't miss out on the burgers. The drinks, apps, and shakes are delicious too...

Great burger! I tried the Farmer's Burger, and the runny yolk was perfect. The beef was seasoned well, the veggies fresh, and the bun held all the goodness together. The sweet potato waffle fries were great, but the curry ketchup was the best! We also tried the Chocolate Milkshake, and I regretted splitting it and not getting my own. Everything was very, very good. They also have a variety of vegetarian options and turkey burgers can be substituted for any of their creations. Solid burger in a casual, non-pretentious atmosphere. They also have patio seating!

I want to rave about the food at Big Orange, but the service was pretty awful. When we first arrived, we were seated and introduced to our waiter. We ordered burgers, fries, and milkshakes and got our burgers first. We ordered the truffle fries, and got the sweet potato fries instead. I kindly informed our server (different from the one who took our order), and she was very nice and said she would bring them back and correct the order. We never got our truffle fries, and had to go up to the bar to ask for our milkshake because they never came either. Oh, and our server disappeared until the end of our meal when he asked if we wanted the check (from behind the bar, he didn't even come to our table). Near the end of our meal, we informed another server that we never got our fries, and then got served the same sweet potato fries AGAIN. Needless to say, we were pretty peeved by then and just wanted to leave. Not only was the service sporadic, nobody ever came to check if we wanted more water, if the food was okay, or if we got all everything we ordered. We informed our server about the disappointing service, and he was apologetic. Still, that was after the fact. The food, however, was delicious. We got the Famer's burger and the green chile burger, both of which were delicious. Our white chocolate pistachio milkshake was also amazing. Sweet potato fries were okay, but maybe I was biased because I very much wanted to try the truffle fries and was disappointed twice when they never came. Overall, good food, nice ambiance, not so great service. However, worth a try.

The burgers here are great-- not as good as David's in my opinion, but the options they have (bacon and avocado, Farmers burger with fried egg, bacon, and havarti, turkey burger, falafel burger, etc) is very appealing since you can take a big group with varied tastes. Another big plus is their salad menu is fairly extensive (5-7 salads ranging from chicken salad to Thai). My only complaint here is that the prices are too high for a burger and salad place. The cheapest burger will leave you at $12 tax and tip included, and that does NOT include any sides. Expect to fork over $4-6 if you want fries or a side salad. Looking at spending $20+ for a burger and fries is way too much in my opinion. Delicious food, but the quality does not deserve the price tag.

Green chilli burger is sooo gooood! This burger is seasonal and my favorite! Sweet potato fries and banana pie shake weregreat too!

The burgers are great, but at $76 (including 20% tip) for a family of four, this place is in our "special occasion category". I feel like the food is better and more affordable as well as the crowd is less pretentious at The Root, downtown LR.

The food was delicious. I had the fried chicken burger and boy was it asking. The flavor was awesome. I couldn't complain about anything. The fried pickles are delicious. They look weird but they had a funnel cake like batter on them (didn't taste a funnel cake :) the Oreo shake was delicious. Service was slow for a 3:00 late lunch but still I would come back

Couldn't have asked for a better meal. Period. The service was very amicable and quick. The food was delicious. And the atmosphere was perfect. We started off with some of the house chips as an appetizer and they were so crispy and full of flavor. Definitely home made. Then I ordered the Hickory Smoke Burger with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. Before I talk about the burger let me talk about the fries. Probably the most authentic tasting sweet potato fries I've ever had. So rich with flavor and went perfectly with the BBQ sauce. Now onto the burger...wow. The flavors were perfectly balanced. The sweet BBQ sauce was evened out by the dill pickle and the crispy onion strings were a great compliment. Plus the burger was cooked exquisitely. Overall a great causal restaurant with even better food. p.s. GET A MILKSHAKE!

Usually we go to Big Orange (Midtown), it's been pretty awesome in the past. This one (Chenal), however, has always sucked in comparison. They don't do the same specials, the quality isn't on par and this time it was super-bad. We had to send the chips back, cause they were inedibly stale. They brought us back [probably] the same chips (also stale). The fries were stale too! We didn't send those back, cause we'd be embarrassed and don't want to be THOSE people. My boyfriend got the special, which was some Cuban Pork sandwich, and it was so fatty, he was pulling huge chunks of fat out (see pic). C'mon! Your food ain't CHEAP! It got 2 stars instead of 1, because the Velvet Orange drink was so strong, it put me in a better mood. ;) Needless to say, we won't be coming back to Chenal's Big Orange.

A very convenient restaurant for dining in Little Rock. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable table service. The shakes and burgers are very tasty with a wide choice of options. Would highly recommend the Thai chop salad and the pistachio milkshake.

Dragged here by my in-laws. Oh-my-heavens. I had the Grasshopper burger. There is some kind of magic that goes into that turkey patty, waitress said they brine it. Ordered with a GF bun from Dempsey Bakery (local), it was so good. The waitress even came back to let me know the BBQ sauce wasn't GF. Things like that let me know the chef is aware and on their toes in understanding GF isn't just a fad and is a serious issue for some (Celiac).

The food at this place is magnificent. The steak steak and potato burger is really good. Cheese dip is amazing. Service was exceptional for a burger place on a Friday night. Loved that they have outdoor seating. I'll have to visit during the winter and sit near the giant fireplace outside.

Great burgers, diverse menu. Go for the sweet potato fries and spicy ketchup as a side.

Plenty of burgers to choice. The Hickory Smoke is my go to order and it is very tasty with the house fries on the side. The root beer and floats are good as well.

There's a nice variety of upscale burger flavorings here as well as other healthier options like turkey and veggie burgers, and flavorful chicken salads. I had a bacon and avocado burger, and wife had a chicken pecan salad. They have been around Little Rock for 3 years I think our server said, and only have a couple of locations. They also have a great craft beer selection, and a full bar as well, which was kinda unique to me for the modern diner type setup they have. Prices are on higher side but reasonable for the quality and ingredients. It was a nice lunch stop for us.

This place could merit a 4-star review if the service improved. Right from the start, the host staff was more focused on filling their own beverage than filling tables. Our waitress, while pleasant, wanted little do to with our 6-top since she already had another one and was "too busy" - at least that was the explanation from the hostess. Food was fine, but apps were placed without plates or setups. They need to tighten up their game on the service experience or this place will be getting many more less-than-adequate reviews.

  • Mike K.

The Yellow Rocket team knows how to build a menu. The attention to detail is always great, the burgers are incredible, and the truffle fries are far too good to pass up. My favorite is the farmers burger. Its clear that they put focus on local sourcing, and picking the highest quality ingredients to build their menu. This is one our favorite cheat day meals (a bit to calorie dense for every day consumption )

Stopped in here yesterday for lunch and we had a great experience. We were quickly seated at the bar and we were tended to right away. I sampled a couple if the different beers they had while the old lady had a mixed drink that was tasty and strong...a good one/two punch. I had the atom bomb with the garlic truffle fries. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and everything about it was on point. The old lady had the turkey pesto with sweet potato fries and she enjoyed it too. She was a little weirded out by the yolk of the egg busting out on the burger, but she's a wuss anyways. She quickly got over it and I watched her devour the burger. Would recommend this place as a good lunch/day drinking spot. They had countless drinks to choose from.

I've been behind on updating reviews, but I have since been back to Big Orange, and my experience was much better the second time around. The food is pricey but generally good, and the level of service seems to be better than it was on my first visit. Make no mistake, this place is expensive for what you get, so don't expect to eat a burger and fries for under $15 per person, but the atmosphere and presentation help to establish them as upmarket as compared to other burger restaurants in Central Arkansas.

  • Kate G.

They brought me old fries. I asked for new fries. They then brought me soggy and squishy fries. I didn't get any refils, either. I had bad service the previous time, as well, so it wasn't just today. Listen, I love your food, but you guys have got to get it together. Seriously. I'll probablly try this place again and give TBO another chance, but it's seriously going to be a while. You guys had such great service before. What the hell happened?

Amazing Burgers... And you can have any burger and replace with Vegetarian (blackbean) Patty... Must Visit place if you are looking for Burgers... French Fries are different and tasty too... Recommended Place from my side...

Love the fun atmosphere! The burger selection is great! Veggie, turkey burger options. Great toppings! This is such a great little chain, I went to both of their little rock locations and enjoyed them both!

They took the tempura asparagus off the menu. The tempura green beans aren't quite the same. The pesto turkey burger was just ok. Really the reason for the drop to two stars is the service. We waited forever for our waiter to return to take our order. I actually had to get up and ask another server to take our order. Even after that the waiter was cluelessly inattentive. Think I'm done with Big Orange. Too many other good options.

This trendy little place nestled in the Promenade at Chenal, is a gem to hamburger aficionados. I would suggest that you get their app, so that you can have a seat ready by the time you get there, because of the high volume of others trying to eat here. The food is very good, they even have lighter foods for those on diets. You can get your burger anyway you want it here. The service has been friendly, and helpful, but not always prompt.

  • Rachel B.

I was impressed by the variety of types of burgers on the menu; even more impressive is the variety of types of milkshakes! I had a turkey burger and it was awesome! Highly recommended! The waiter was helpful in narrowing down my selections. The only drawback was that the bathroom at this place was disgusting. So I highly recommend eating here, just hit up a bathroom before you go!

The food and service is very good, everything tastes very fresh. When I'm here from Colorado, I try to make it out here.

Yum, yum, yum! Who doesn't love a good, juicy, American burger? Everything we tried was outstanding. I had the Maytag Blue - awesome blue cheese and tasty pepper jelly made the burger. My husband ordered the White Truffle & Pecorino - as the kids say these days, OMG! This burger was one of the best I've had in my lifetime - Fig jam, white truffles, o la la! I'll be ordering that burger next time we go, which I hope is soon. Icing on top of the cake? Let's just say the shakes top off a perfect restaurant experience. My recommendation - the Pistachio & White Chocolate - worth breaking any diet.

As I drive up to the outdoor shopping mall, with generic chain stores and restaurants I was not expecting much. I walk inside, and am even less encouraged. Seems sterile, and generic. The place was packed and loud. Though several seats available at the bar, with a few dinning areas and a patio. The light fixtures, bar stools, and tables all look like they were bought at Pier One. A few TV's turned to sports, that are surprisingly unobtrusive. Anyway, getting past that I take a seat at the bar. They hand me a small piece of paper with the beer selection. 8 taps, 7 are beer and one is a wine. I really like the small selection. Schlafly Coffee Stout, Prairie Ale, Marshall Pavillion Pilsner, and St. Bernardus being the big hitters when I visited. The taps always rotate, with clean lines, correct temps and glassware. A slightly more extensive bottle selection. A nice cocktail spot as well. Some classic standbys are great, like the Old Fashion and Sazarac. They do house bourbon barrel aged cocktails on occasion. I did not get to try any of those, but something I need to look for when available. Service is spot on. The bartenders are all on top of everything. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The girl behind the bar is a sweetheart. Food is excellent, and comes out quick, hot and fresh. Mostly burgers, but really well made. The burgers come out slightly more than medium. Still really juicy and flavorful. Lots of different options to choose as well. I had the Hickory Smoke. A really well balanced burger with sharp cheddar, BBQ sauce, fried onion strings. Really tasty, and I have had other burgers similar that turn out to be a mess. I was not a huge fan of the fries, but the house cut chips are excellent as are some pimento cheese apps. They are not just a burgers and beer spot. Really good cocktails, and even shakes. A good place to stop for lunch, even if you can't have an alcoholic drink at that time. A place comfy enough for families, high school kids after school, or people that want a burger and a drink. I am glad I did not judge this book by its generic cover cause I would have missed out on a great spot.

I have no idea how this place is 4 stars. I went here with my girlfriend and had to wait 5 minutes to be seated with 75% of the tables empty and half the tables dirty. When I got my burger it was raw and I couldn't eat it. Had to ask for silverware after the food arrived. My girl friend got a steak salad and asked for chicken instead and we were charged 3.50 extra. For $45 bucks for food for two and a beer this place is way way way over rated. I'd suggest you go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

If you've never had an "adult" milkshake, wow, you're missing out! I had my first one here and I'm a believer. Dloce de leche with brandy .... Wow. The Farmer's burger with egg and petit jean bacon topped off the decadent shake experience. Truly a royale burger. With local fresh ingredients this place as truly a good find.

Sat down for 10 minutes without being acknowledged by anyone. Got up to find a server who only told us to wait some more. Didn't even bother to take our drink orders while he figured out who the server was. Waited another 10 mins before walking out. The server I talked to watched us leave. I could sympathize if it were busy, but It was not busy at all. This is usually my favorite place to eat, but I won't be going back for a while. Definitely won't recommend this location anymore.

This road weary traveler stopped in the other day and poured into a bar seat. My server was Micheal and he was awesome. I really didn't have it in me to look over the menu and I think the man took pity on me. He pointed me towards the Atom Bomb and truffle french fries. While that was cooking, he kept my water glass full and took a little time to chat while preparing drinks. It was just what I needed to unwind a bit. And then the food showed up. mmmmmmmm I'm going to tell you right now the burger was well worth the stop. The Atom Bomb had sriracha, chipotle mayo, and jalepnos, but the heat was tasty and not overwhelming. Great bun, great beef, great toppings. One of the best I've ever had. The fries were just amazing too. If you are watching your salt intake, maybe make a different choice, but I loved it. A perfect pairing with the garlic aioli. But this review is really for my server. He took the time and took care of me. I had to promise to be back for the pistachio milkshake and I firmly intend to keep that promise. Thanks for everything, Micheal. You represented this place well and give all Michaels a good name. ;-)

Was recommended this place by a customer in the area and he did not steer me wrong. I went with the atom bomb and it was delicious! The burger itself was amazing! So juicy and seasoned! I could of ate the patty by itself. The sweet tater fries were great as well! Also had the whoppers malt shake. Pretty darn good meal in all! Great service and price as well!

I've tried this place twice now and have had three different burgers all of which I have not finished due to taste. Today I had the farmers burger and only ate half, not because I was full but because the burger was not tasty, just like the others I've tried. I personally don't care for the bun and the burger itself has no flavor so you must pick a burger with the right toppings to give it any flavor or it's just a grease flavor. I also had the sweet potato fries which were good but the sauce they serve it with was not to my liking either. On another note the prices are a bit ridiculous also, my husband and I both got the farmers burger and my son got a kids burger and with two drinks it was $40.00 after tip it was almost $50.00 for CHEESEBURGERS! Totally not worth it to me and my family. I must admit the atmosphere is different for a hamburger joint so they have that going for them but I don't think it's worth it personally. The next time I'm in the mood for a burger I'm going to Five Guys. I've never been disappointed there and it's half the price.

Authentic burgers full of flavor! Hands down the best burger place in Little Rock. I love the Atom bomb burger with sweet potato fries with Mango chutney . The waits tend be long but service is usually pleasant!

  • Mark H.

I tried this's place for the 1st time today and it will definitely be my last visit here. My wife and I each had a farmers burger. She had sweet potato fries with gross ketchup. I had reg fries with mojo sauce. My son had a kids burger and fruit. We had 2 sodas and 1water our bill before tip was 40.00. After we tipped it cost 50.00. 3 burgers one being a kids burger and it cost 50 that's outrageous. If u want Weird combination over priced food by all means this is the place 4 u. My son finished his burger my wife and I ate half and didn't want to eat anymore not bc I was full but it wasn't good. After I cut my burger in 1/2 egg yoke covered my plate and oozed all over my burger. Egg yoke flavored Nastiness.

Stopped in to the Chenal Big Orange for supper. It was busy, so rather than wait we agreed to sit at a table in the bar area. Big mistake! There are no dedicated servers for these tables, and the bartenders are responsible for taking care of you. We waited nearly 15 minutes before even ordering drinks. We then waited another 20 minutes after ordering our food to inquire about how long it would be (we saw several tables of large parties that came in after us receiving their food). After complaining, we waited another 10 minutes to receive our food. My turkey curry burger was excellent and so were my sweet potato fries. My husbands hickory burger was mediocre and so were his fries. The manager ended up apologizing and comping our meals, which was nice. We even noticed another couple requested to be moved from the bar section to another table because the service was so poor. We probably won't be back to this location for a while. Biggest piece of advice: don't accept a bar top table.

  • Megan N.

My truffle burger was very good, and I was surprised how well the fig jam worked with it. However, there was very little truffle taste, so fig burger may be a more appropriate name. I loved the mango curry for the sweet potato fries. It brought back good memories of chips and curry in Ireland. The fries themselves were a little over cooked. The pistachio milkshake was delicious! If you like pistachio ice cream, it's a must try. If you've never had pistachio ice cream, it's still a must try.

Big Orange's burgers are fantastic, and they have a ton of options for them. However, their burgers are around $10, which is a fair price when it comes with a side aka fries. Although, their burgers do not come with a side. Plus, there fries are expensive and very small portions. I probably won't eat there again unless fries start coming with their burgers, and this is why I gave them 3 stars.

DEAR GOD!!!!!! This place is a GOLD MINE of flavor! Took a customer and a business associate here for lunch. Food was excellent..... No, it wa better than excellent. We all had burgers and agreed they were the best we had ever had in Little Rock. The sweet potato fries with curried ketchup were Amazing as well. My only negative comment is: I went for lunch so i couldn't get a drink at what seems to be a wonderful bar. (maybe next time) if you are considering going here or somewhere else..... STOP NOW, the decision is over. Go To Big Orange Now!!!!!!

  • Shu L.

The bar staff overcharged my friend and I for our orders and pretended like it was an extra tax. I've gone to several restaurants in this city and have never been charged this mysterious tax. I believe they added gratuity in which is unethical as well as petty theft when serving a party of two at the bar!

  • Tim I.

By far my favorite place to get a burger! I get the Hickory Smoke, this last time I added a fried egg and it was wonderful. My fiancé and I go, each get a burger and share a order of fries. The bob sauce is good with the fries, they have a chipotle mayo which is good with the fries too just ask for it. Service is usually pretty good we've been several times and never a time that would make us not want to come back for more of this delicious food!

After giving up on ever being served food at Tavern we walked over here and were served (at their closing time). They even cranked a grilled cheese out for my son who was starving after baseball practice. Food is GREAT as well. Top notch place!

Our family of 5 ate here while staying overnight in LR. It's located in a new outdoor shopping center...nice area. We all had burgers. My daughter & I split the farmer burger. It had bacon and a fried egg and a delicious sauce. Very messy but yummy. The buns are fantastic. We also ordered hickory burger, cheese burger and my husband had the atomic bomb which was spicy but not overly. As recommended by yelpers, we got the sweet potatoe fries with the curried mango ketchup...YUM!!! We all ordered milk shakes. They were all great but our fave was the pistachio white chocolate. We also had the ice cream sandwich which was so so. I would get the shake over the ice cream cookie sandwich. Our service was great. The only complaint was the cost. Wow...about $90 with a tip for 4 hamburgers, fries, one beer, one cocktail (it was happy hour so these were a bargain), 3 sodas, 3 milkshakes and one ice cream sandwich. If we are ever in LR again, we would def come back again!

I am allergic to beef. They have the absolute BEST turkey burgers, I've ever had!! There was a wait. It was crazy busy so the servers had to work hard to get things on the table. They did a pretty darn good job. Would definitely recommend.

Love love love this Place! The food is always amazing , HOTT & perfectly cooked. The ENTIRE Wait staff is very nice & extremely professional . My husband & I have been coming here ever since it opened and continue to come here to celebrate little mile stones in our marriage . His favorite thing to get is the Truffle burger and is just the usual that comes with bacon & this BBQ sauce on it, I can't think of the name because I'm already in a food coma just thinking about it. Anyways I love big orange, there is nothing awful to say about this place , & if there is a bad review then that person may very well have no taste buds or know what a great dinning experience was if it came up and bit them in the WHAT? What?

I was lucky enough (or unlucky enough) to spend my Christmas holiday this year with my big sis in Little Rock. I'm from back east where unfortunately fast food is king. I try to avoid run-of-the-mill fast food where possible, but some days with time constraints and such, their drive-thru is a necessary evil. I'm a burger junkie, so I'm always game to try a new burger joint. I visited the Promenade at Chenal for Anthropologie and Apple, but was intrigued by this place called "Big Orange". After receiving a text message that said, "Your table is ready", we quickly setting in with our drink orders. At the next table, I eyed the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich and I had to have it. It's hand-breaded fried chicken with a dill pickle, butter leaf lettuce, tomato, and BOB sauce - a jazzed up Thousand Island. This sandwich was amazing -- beautifully presented, juicy and full of flavor! My better half ordered the Petit Jean Bacon & Avocado. It comes with American cheese, Petit Jean Bacon, avocado, butter leaf lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I was able to barter half of my chicken sandwich for half of this one and It was a good trade. The Black Angus beef is some of the best I've ever had. It was what 'real' beef should taste like. The bacon, too, was amazing. My wife is an avocado-freak, and that really accentuated the overall taste of the burger. I'd love to have one of those right now. During the great Christmas ice and snowstorm of 2012, all I could think about was visiting Big Orange again before flying back to Virginia. I was hoping Mother Nature would allow me one last change at a tasty burger. Luckily, I made it back with a day to spare. This time I opted for the Farmer's Burger with Havarti, a fried egg, Petit Jean Bacon, butter leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion, and aïoli. It was an excellent burger, but the Petit Jean Bacon & Avocado beat it by a point or two. As an accompaniment, we had an order of the Truffle-garlic-herb Fries; they come with Black Truffle Oil, fresh herbs, and aïoli. Again, a good choice - tons of flavor with some of the best potatoes on the planet, Kennebec. Big Orange makes the best burger I've ever had, hands down. This is what good ingredients can do to a simple hamburger or chicken sandwich. If you are in Little Rock, this is a must-eat place!

Very good burger joint. I had the Farmers Burger. It was very messy, but very good! I also had the Parmesan fries. They were good, but I would go with the regular fries next time. We had cheese dip and it was good. My wife had the veggie burger and she liked.

I'm not giving this a 4 because I found a hair in my burger. Also for the price of the burger it doesn't come with fries or chips, that's an extra 4 or 5 bucks. My sister got the sweet potato fries which were under cooked. The orange dreamysicle was the only real highlight for me!

Best burger place in Little Rock. The service was remarkable, food was delicious, shakes were the best.

  • Whitney G.

It's a nice trendy burger place, something that the city definitely needed, but because of its popularity as a family place, it gets to be really crowded and service is sometimes slow. The burgers are lovely, but they're definitely quite a dense meal. The fries are just average in my opinion, but the variety in menu makes up for it. Staff is always friendly! My sister loves this place.

Yum!! Best hamburger I've had in a long time. Everything at our table was fresh and delish. The kiddos loved their shakes and my hubby loved his sweet potato fries. Great service and nothing to complain about except maybe the calories.

Yum! In fairness, I ordered to go...but the to go orders going out were plentiful. Great bartender to chat while you were waiting, busy but not packed. The Farmers burger was amazing, really filling and delicious! Truffle fries were solid and ample portioned. Great, reasonably priced dinner!

Great burger place. Cool atmosphere, decent service. Friendly employees who seemed happy to work there. I got the hickory smoke and it was so good. My only complaint? The "kids" burger is HUGE! My 11 year old only ate half of it! I think a smaller portion at a lower price point would be awesome. The fruit that came with the kids side was excellent though! My boys got the chicken snackers and they loved them. Good portion size on that one. Didn't get a shake, but they looked good!

A fun place to go and the shakes are AMAZING! :) This is a great place to go if you are in the mood for burgers and shakes. The restaurant is so bright so your spirits can't help but be lifted once you are there! A group of four of us came for lunch and we were seated right when we arrived. Both being very popular places, we were very pleased not to have to wait. Appetizers: we ordered the spicy pimento cheese. It was not spicy and we didn't think it was anything special. It came with crackers that weren't very tasty but the celery and carrots were great. Then, we had the fried pickled spears. These were OK. I wouldn't order either of them again. This is not detour me from the main reason we came. We came for the burgers. Three of us ordered the atom bomb and were VERY VERY pleased. The taste was flavorful and it was nice to order something different off the menu. The veggie burger was also very tasty and was not trying to imitate beef. It was full of flavor. The house fries and sweet potato fries were delicious. I wasn't the biggest fan of the curry mango ketchup and opted for the regular ketchup that was already on the table. Even though we were full, our arms were twisted into getting the shakes! The Pistachio White Chocolate Shake was hands down AMAZING. I had planned to take it with me for the road but ended up devouring it at the table! Great vibe. Great service. The waiter complimented my skirt and told me it was his favorite shade of green. :) Made my day! Would definitely hit this place again especially if I was craving a great burger and shake.

Can't go wrong. I've tried almost every burger on the menu and haven't been disappointed. Upgrading to the sweet potato fries are a must. Their house-made pimento & cheese is delicious and the tempura asparagus is tender and flavorful. This place really has it together. Don't forget to try a shake. They're super thick, the way I like em.

Great hamburger, great service and a good atmosphere. My daughter loved the veggie burger. The sweet potato fries were hearty and good. Fries are optional and are extra if ordered.

About six months ago I drastically cut back on meat and made a lifestyle change...like, I'll eat it when it's inconvenient not to or if I'm in Philly for example I'm going to have a cheesesteak, etc. I'm firm with it but not an extremist...I'd call myself a weekday vegetarian. When I'm in Little Rock, I'm going to eat a Big Orange burger at some point. Simply stated, it is THE best gourmet-style hamburger in the Natural State, though to be fair I've heard great things about a couple of places further east that I've yet to try. I would be surprised if someone's doing it better, though. I WAS a big meat-eater, so I've been around. It's in the details. Grass-fed beef. Their own bun. Clean. Presentation. Friendly. Place is just done right, all the details. I've had three French fries in 6 months. They were all truffle fries at Big Orange.

Yummm! I had the farmer's burger (with the veggie patty and bacon on the side for my boo) and sweet potato fries and he had the BLT wedge salad. The place was pretty hopping for a Sunday early evening (6:00 pm) but we were seated immediately outdoors. The entire menu looked delicious, it was so hard to choose, and I love that you can make any burger combination vegetarian. The fries were delicious (hello, fries made from sweet potato that are ALSO waffle-cut??) and came with a mango-curry ketchup that was a bit sweet for my taste but a nice change from the regular plain stuff. The atmosphere is very relaxed - good for lunch or a casual dinner. I'm sure I'll be back to try all the other options!

One word will describe my experience here....AMAZING! Whenever I'm in LR I make sure there's time for the best burgers I've ever had. Amazing!

HIGHLY RECCOMEND EATING HERE! Best burgers and milkshakes in little rock. Big orange is always the first place I go to eat when I visit Little Rock! Really fun atmosphere too!

I was told Big Orange was awesome and am not mad at anyone who told me so. The bun is the best. The toppings are creative and delicious. Meat was tender and well cooked. I got the fig jam burger and my bf got the bbq bacon one. Four thumbs way up. My only criticism is that the truffle oil on my burger was a little too much. I would have just tossed the arugula in it rather than drizzling over the whole burger. But points for creativity for sure. The location isn't close to anywhere I'm use to going, but if you plan on walking around the little outdoor shopping area, it's a little bonus. Oh and definitely go for the milkshake.

First this place is too expensive for what you get. I had the spicy pimento cheese burger. There were hardly any toppings on the burger and the patty was too thick and the bun too small. The sweet potato fries were cold and tough. I ordered a lemon icebox pie shake and it was just ok. I won't be going back.

Overpriced and blah. Not worth it at all. Try David's Burgers or Arkansas Burger Company - you won't go back to the Big Orange after either of those two!! They rock!

This place is a little pricey for a burger joint, but it's worth the splurge! Burgers are amazing (I recommend the Mushroom Melt) and fries are great too. We tried the sweet potato fries with mango curry ketchup...it was nice for something different but i would still prefer their regular fries. Everyone reviews the burgers but I have to say their house salad is one of the best salads I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Mixed greens, goat cheese, berries, pecans & citrus vinaigrette..Delicious! Shakes are also really good, my husband & I shared the white chocolate pistachio and it tasted just like a cookie. If you come on a Saturday evening, expect a lengthy weight....But it's in a very nice shopping center and they will actually text you when your table is ready so you can go browse around.

I just wanted to write a quick review for my favorite restaurant in Little Rock. You guys do burgers and do them right. Everything is made from scratch, everything is fresh, and whatever you guys can get local you buy local. I have never had a bad experience here and I have never had a better turkey burger in my life. It is so refreshing to see a brave new restaurant take on all the mediocre diners around here. The locals still rave about the Purple Cow but these are the same people who think McDonald's also serves up a tasty burger. Big Orange has been voted the best burgers in the state of Arkansas and I 100% agree. Those sweet potato fries and the mango-curry ketchup are also fantastic and showed me a flavor combination I never knew existed. I also love that they sell variety of micro-brews from all over the country, all of which are fantastic. They also sell some great mixed drinks, although, most recently I had the 'Southern Bell' and was...surprised. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't say it was amazing either. I enjoyed it but I don't think I would order it again; although I think it would be a perfect mixed drink on a hot day. All that being said, I have got to complain about the bathroom situation. Such a big restaurant and such an awesome bar and only one toilet for the men?! I once stood and waited for 15 minutes just to take a piss during lunch. I'm sorry guys, but that is ridiculous.

This place is fabulous! The atmosphere is wonderful. It's a bit more casual than the Midtown location, but is perfect for date night or a night out on the town with the girls. Above all else, the food was excellent. I always get the Hickory Smoke Burger (with turkey meat, but the angus is just as good) and it is wonderful. Several of my friends have gotten the Mushroom Melt and loved it. I just don't like mushrooms. The house fries are delicious, and the BOB sauce that comes with them is to die for. The sweet potato fries are good too! All in all, it's a little pricey (I'm a college student) but is totally worth what you pay for. I never walk out of there hungry or disappointed.

Amazing burger and fries!! I enjoyed the bacon and avocado burger with the garlic truffle fries. The burger was great, but the fries were out of this world. Not to mention they had some sort of white sauce that just completed the fries! The shakes are just as good and should not be missed.

Someone recently asked me where to get the best burger in Central Arkansas. Naturally, I pointed them to Big Orange. Another person "corrected" me by noting that Big Orange is overrated and continued by stating that the Purple Cow is where it's at. I still have not quit laughing from that exchange. Luckily, the Purple Cow lover/Big Orange hater is not a Yelper or else I'd be forced to report them to Yelp HQ for questionable taste... Onto Big Orange...yeah. It's delightful. While I've come to expect a reasonable selection of craft beers from my restaurants, many Central Arkansas establishments fail to deliver. Big Orange definitely meets my expectations. On my most recent visit, we started with a Kennebec Chip Bucket. It came with a mayo dipper. "Oh, come on, Big Orange...we aren't in Europe, here! Mayo should not exist outside a tuna salad!" I thought to myself. As with most items, though, adding that delightful "chipotle" kick made the use of mayo as a dipping sauce not only acceptable, but downright necessary. (I'm still perfecting my at-home chipotle red pepper mayo. No luck thus far.) Most the table either had Atom Bombs or Petit Jean Bacon & Avocado Burgers. They were amazing. Ingredients fresh. Big. Well crafted. No bun sog. Mouth on fire for us Atom Bomb folks...I can't help it, though. I'm a sucker for rooster sauce. We complimented our burgers with delicious sweet potato fries and their fun play on ketchup...it had a mango flavor to it that I really enjoyed. Wow...so that was my first Yelp review in aboooout 6 months. Yeah, Big Orange was good enough to draw me back onto Yelp just to talk them up. Rumor has it that Big Orange is adding a second, more central location in the near future. I welcome it, because while I love Big Orange, I do not love having to drive to East Perryville every time I need my fix.

Great food all around. The burgers are very good, as is the chicken sandwich. The falafel sandwich leaves a bit to be desired. Really good sides and shakes, not to mention one of the best beer selections in town (for quality, not quantity).

After my first experience and review of Big Orange, the owner kindly offered to let my husband and I try a meal on him, in hopes of proving what an exceptional restaurant they have. I was impressed that he cared enough to respond in the first place, as well as want to ensure a great experience. With this said, we recently visited Big Orange for a late lunch. One thing I realized I failed to point out during my last review is the decor. The restaurant is very clean and modern looking, designed in shades of white, gray, and what else? Orange. :) Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and seated. Our waitress was very friendly, and I definitely noticed she was efficient with the computer ordering system. We ordered the Chicken Salad Plate, Hickory Smoke Burger (plus bacon), and Sweet Potato Fries. I will first point out, Big Orange has done away with bringing out each item as it is cooked. With this said, our meal was out in a matter of minutes, all hot and fresh. Everything was delicious! Truly. The salad was fresh with chicken salad, strawberries, and candied pecans. It was a large portion size, as well. My husband loved his burger, and the sweet potato fries were just right- hot and crispy. For dessert, we tried the Lemon Icebox Shake. It was also really good! And I noticed that they did add a kids menu. I really appreciate the opportunity to try Big Orange again. This time they did not fail to impress. I will be craving that salad and look forward to my next visit. I also can gladly recommend you check them out! Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I.

Visited Big Orange for the first time today. Have to say it was really good. We had the mushroom burger and the chicken sandwich. Both were good, but the burger was awesome! The cheese dip with house made chips was really good as well. It may be a little pricey, but totally worth it! Great food, and the service was good as well.

Big Orange has interesting spins on the usual all-American fare. I like the fact that the restaurant tries to use locally grown produce when possible, which is not only environmentally friendly, but helps support local producers and farmers. I tried the white truffle and pecorino burger, which was quite good. The fig jam was a nice addition to the burger, making it the perfect sweet and savory combo. I'm also a sucker for pecorino and arugula, so I guess I'm a sucker for this burger. I definitely recommend the sweet potato fries. They were crispy and seasoned just right. Can't wait to go back to try the other items on the menu!

Been a few times for dinner with family and friends. Took our 6 week old son for his first restaurant experience and they were accommodating. Tried the farmer's burger and mushroom melt. The meat had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The cheese on the melt was soft and worked great with the shrooms. We really liked the buns. I forget if the are from Boulevard or somewhere else, but they turned a good burger to into greatness. We've sampled most of the fry and chips and all were very tasty. The Bob sauce with the fries had a really cool flavor. The service was good. It was very crowded each time we went. We usually had to wait 20 min or less, but that's cause we had 5 or 6 people and went on Friday night. I like how the wait staff had remote ordering devices. I assume it help speed up our order because we never had a long wait for our food. The location is nice because there is shopping and a movie theater in walking distance. The patio is large and provides a good people watching spot. The prices run around $10 for the burgers and $3-8 for the apps. Don't remember the salad or drink prices, but I think they were typical. We plan to go back as often as our schedule allows.

Simply AMAZING. On par (or maybe even better) than B-Spot up in Cleveland (which is owned by Iron Chef Michael Symon for people in Arkansas wondering what type of restaurant that is). I do wish the fries were better, but then again I am comparing them to Lola Fries, but the hamburgers were simply delicious. I had the Farmer's Burger ($9.25) which consists of a delicious burger with fried egg, mouth watering bacon, havarti cheese, and the greens. For my side, I got the Truffle Garlic Herb Fries ($5.00) which is worth the money. Oh you know what else is amazing is that they do make a 3-bean patty for those that are vegetarian.

  • Saul K.

I had the classic burger and it was simply good. The buns they use and all other details were just right. The food was served fairly quickly and my friend also loved their atom bomb burger. I also had their fries and a dessert shake, they were all fair. This place is definitely the place to go if you are craving burgers. Only thing I was disappointed about was the waitress. Granted, I went there at rush hour but I saw some other waitresses that were doing a phenomenal job in serving their customers while the waitress for my table just came around once or twice; this made my stay at the restaurant much longer than it had to be.

As recent transplants to Little Rock, my husband and I have been looking for a good veggie burger joint. The Big Orange's veggie burger, while not quite as good as the one we used to get at our neighborhood restaurant back home (The Park in Los Angeles), is a pretty satisfying substitute. I ordered the one with the pimento cheese and green tomato and the Mr. had the one with mushrooms. Both were tasty, but mine could have used a bit less cheese and a bit more green tomato as the amount of cheese on my burger was overwhelming after a few bites and I had to take some out to balance out the patty to cheese ratio. The mushroom burger was the favorite between the two. We also shared an order of their truffle fries which were good (but not out-of-this-world good like some of the other reviews claim, imho). As others have warned, you will make a mess while eating this thing, but it's worth getting your hands dirty ;) We also ordered one of the floats which had coffee and ice cream - the coffee wasn't cold enough so it kind of felt like you were drinking an iced coffee drink that had been left out and had lost its chill, kinda off putting. On the other hand, the flavor was there. Might have to give this another try to see if the odd temperature was just a fluke...

So, I moved to Maumelle, AR from New Orleans in March. I have yet to find a place in Little Rock that has anything remotely to what I'm used to as far as "flavor". It seems most of the food around here is just bland. Or at least, that's what I thought before I ate at Big Orange. I decided to eat at Big Orange after leaving the Apple store as it was a nice day outside and they had a patio area and I'm a huge burger fan. My favorite burger place ever is in NOLA and called Port of Call. So naturally I've been on the lookout for a great burger in the area. We went and ate at Big Orange and I ordered the Petit Jean Bacon & Avocado burger with a side of sweet potato fries. Both were SO delicious. I couldn't have been happier with the taste. The price is ok for the burger, but personally I think $3.50 is kinda expensive just for some fries, and I thought the mango-kurry sauce was just disgusting. BUT, I'm just not big on kurry in the first place. So it's just a personal preference. Needless to say I was definitely satisfied with the food. The service was good, but could have been a bit better. A little too long between drink refills, and our waiter on both trips we've eaten there (different people) did the sin of giving us our check before asking if we were done or if we wanted desert. Which we did want. Still, a great place if you're looking for an awesome burger! NOLA Native approved!

Big Orange is a one of the few places to get a really good gourmet burger here in Little Rock. I'm writing this review after my third trip since they opened up in 2011. The restaurant is brought to you by the same folks that started Boulevard Bread and ZaZa, both extremely high quality establishments. The owners have really taken their time to source and supply excellent quality ingredients which makes all of the difference in the world. On my first excursion, I tried the atom bomb burger which was great, but not overly spicy. The next time, I tried the white truffle pecorino burger, which was so good that I had it again on my most recent trip and will do it again next time. For sides, I have had the chips twice, and between myself and others with me have had all three types of fries, and would do any of them over again. All of the sauces that go with the sides are excellent.

Ordered take out tonight. I have seen a lot of positive reviews and have been wanting to try this place out. I ordered the Classic Burger and it was one of the best burgers ever! It was a little more pink (medium rare) than I would've liked, but I am sure that's one of the reasons it tasted so good. Next time I order, I'll ask them to cook medium well.

One of the best bars in Little Rock and it's at a burger place. Go figure. The place has great food but everything is a la carte so it can be pricey. For example, no burgers come with fries. Don't let this discourage you as this is a fun, trendy, and great place to grab a burger and a beer or cocktail in the Rock.

I ordered the Farmers Burger and the Truffle-Garlic-Herb fries. It was all delicious! Bring an appetite and a full wallet though, I think it was well worth the price, but my married friends were moanin & groanin a little when the bill came. Its a small restaurant with an outdoor sitting area and full bar. The wait staff is awesome and will happily point you in the right direction (not towards the most expensive stuff, like some places). It's a little bit out of the way, but once you get there the shopping center has plenty of clothing stores and bars and an IMAX movie theater with plenty of parking all around. Four stars for price and the trek.

Living most of my life in Cali and New York I just don't get the hype with this hamburger restaurant. However, I really did like the decor and atmosphere. The burgers are definitely unique and of high quality beef but for my palate it just lacked that certain sonething from both high end and greasy food trucks Los Angeles and Manhattan offer. Again, the aatmosphere is definitely worth the visit.

This was THE BEST BURGER I have ever had. No joke. Now, I honestly don't remember the last time I had an actual hamburger, as I usually opt for a veggie burger or turkey burger... but they use humanly raised/hormone free beef, so I thought I'd give it a go. SOOOO glad I did! I had the hickory burger, which came with BBQ sauce, onion strips, and pickles. It was heaven in my mouth. Really. Heaven. In my mouth. The hubby got a different type of burger, which he thoroughly loved. The burgers DO NOT come with a side; an order or fries is about $3.50. We decided to share an order of sweet potato fries with mango-curry-katsup... they were crisp, perfect, sweet potato waffle fries. I had my doubts about the katsup, but I loved the interesting, different flavor!! My only complaints are that the food took quite a long time to come to the table, and the chairs at the table are REALLY uncomfortable. My back was killing me by the time we left. But back pain is worth this amazing burger!!

Hamburgers as well made and delicious as a work of art. It's hard to choose just one that was a favorite, but the Atom Bomb and the Maytag blue are very close ties. Try a salad too! they looked delicious.

I was hungry and had been craving a burger and was going to the Apple Store in the same shopping center. So I stopped by The Big Orange. I ordered the hickory smoke burger because ever since the days of the Minute Man burger joint in Little Rock, that's been a fave burger of mine. I ordered extra hickory sauce on the side as sometimes sandwiches come a little undersauced. This sandwich was amazing. The proportions of the ingredients are perfection. The burger consists of a locally made bun slathered with sauce that totally held together, a perfectly sized, for my tastes, patty of grassfed beef, a thick slice of melted cheddar cheese, a bunch of fried onion strings and 2 paper thin slices of a whole dill pickle. This is a gourmet burger spot with burgers in the $8.00 range but perfection on a plate! Just go eat there!

This is my "Best" Burger in Little Rock. Local beef, local bun made just for them and an extremely large amount of toppings make this a great burger place. But, what's even better than their burger is the Fried Chicken Sandwich and their homemade chips! The Best.

This hipster, gourmet burger place is the best restaurant in Little Rock, period. It has a well-stocked bar, attentive staff, and original flavors. The veggie burgers are, if possible, better than the "real" burgers. (My mom, who is not a vegetarian, gets a veggie burger with bacon.) Try both the truffle burger and truffle fries.

Definitely a great concept place. Hubby & I heard about the opening of Big Orange and drove out to the Promenade for lunch the other day. We were surprised at the location, it is SMALL. There was a wait (short wait, about 10 minutes) for lunch which isn't favorable but we didn't mind too much. When we were seated our server came to our table promptly and took our drink orders. As another reviewer mentioned they use a sortof electronic pad in lieu of a notepad to take orders. They must have gotten more savvy with these devices b/c it did not seem to hinder our server at all. They have a great cocktail menu and hubby was excited they offered some of his favorite beers on draft. I stuck with a diet coke seeing as it was lunch but he went for a draft beer, some kind of Hoptober Fest thing. I ordered the fried chicken "burger wich" and hubby went for the white truffle and pecorino burger. Sides come seperately, and we ordered the chips & truffle fries. The chips came out first, which was fine b/c we really wanted something to nibble on! They were hot and fresh, and I loved the chipotle sauce served with them. Our entrees and the truffle fries came out at the same time which was great, Loved my burger wich- it was fresh and very tastey. Hubby loved his burger- said it was unlike any burger he had ever had and really enjoyed it. The truffle fries were also very good! At the end of our meal we decided we had to try a dessert so we went for the cookies & cream milkshake to split. YUM! Real cookies and a great milkshake. Can't go wrong with that combo! All in all we really enjoyed Big Orange and look forward to going back, its something very different for Little Rock- and thats a good thing!

Burgers here are amazing. I had the Atom Bomb and the gf had the Maytag Blue. I couldn't decide which one was better. The salads are also really good. Can't really go wrong with this place. Ended the meal with a Dulce de Leche shake and I couldn't have been a more satisfied man. Best burger place in Little Rock is a well-deserved title.

  • Jennifer H.

The burgers are alright, but for gourmet burgers they could kick it up a notch. No salad or fries are included and an order of fries (a "bucket") was around $4.50 I think. So, if you want the standard beer, fries, burger, you're going to drop about $25 with tax and tip. A burger and a salad closer to $30. They are popular for their beer/cocktail selection, but I've become a bit of a cocktail snob lately and they could go farther using some fresh fruit/herbs. My friend, however, loves old fashions after having theirs, served with a delicious brandied cherry. Beers are a little pricey. They truth, though, is that there are few places in LR that make well crafted cocktails, so beggars we are. I've tried the shakes before and they're not bad, but they use vanilla ice cream as the base for all their shakes. There's noting sadder than a chocolate shake made with HFCS Hershey's syrup.

Not the best burgers I've ever had, but pretty good. I split Truffle and Mushroom, burgers with my lunch companion. The meat was good quality, juicy and plentiful. Could have used some napkins to deal with the inevitable mess from the dripping juices. Got the sweet potato fries, which came in waffle form. The spicy ketchup sauce that came with it was ok, but I ended up eating my fries without it for the most part. The restaurant had the music turned up loud, which was unnecessary given that it was also fairly crowded, which made the overall volume too loud. Good service. We wanted to try the milkshake, but we were full after the burgers and fries, so I'll have to try it another time.

We went on a whim as we were in the neighborhood today and it was wonderful. My Husband got the Classic Burger and the regular fries and I got the White truffle pecorino burger and Truffle garlic herb fries. Both of us loved our burgers and the fries were great as well. There wasn't much difference in flavor between his fries and mine, but they were both crisp, hot, and delicious. My only cons really are the chairs are super uncomfortable. They are built for really skinny people (other people there were also complaining under their breath about it). And, even though they pass out a coloring sheet and crayons, there appears to be no booster seats or high chairs for the kiddos so keep that in mind. If those two issues were resolved, Big Orange would be a 5 star place.

What a breath of fresh air in a city filled with mediocre at best(unoriginal, expected, old, boring) cuisine. The decor is hip but feel free to bring the fam because it is a casual restaurant. Love everything on the menu. If you like cocktails, the old fashion is killer as is the margarita. I hear the shakes are amazing but I haven't tried. If you do not like "gourmet" burgers...I.e. interesting and new combinations of flavors, don't waste your time. I have no interest in burgers or burger joints but Big Orange is different and well worth a visit.

Holy cow! This place is amazing! It is hands-down the best burger I have ever eaten. In fact, this is what I would want as my "last meal": the spicy pimiento cheese burger, cooked medium, with an order of truffle fries. WOW! That burger is the perfect combination of pimiento cheese, pickled green tomatoes and juicy meat. It melts in my mouth! The truffle fries are totally indulgent, but worth the splurge! I've also had their house-made kettle chips and could make a meal out of those. The curry ketchup that they come with is awesome.

The service was great, very friendly and quick to help even though she was extrememly busy doing mid afternoon turn over. The food was fantastic. The hamburger was delicious and portion size was perfect. Absolutely loved the sweet potato fries and Mango sauce. The restaurant was clean inside and and is in a fabulous location. I will definitely be eating there again when I am back in town.

Infatuation tempts you to say things. Things like, "life changing" or "burger soulmates." Some of that is excitement. Some is the certain knowledge that the whole is so much more than the sum of its parts that if you were to try to describe it better, you'd fail miserably. (The brioche bun is amazing! See? Lame, right? ) Anyway, I don't know if this place will really serve you up your burger soul mate. But I guarantee you'll be at least infatuated. And that's pretty good. Don't get greedy. ;)

I went with a group of friends, thinking we'd get a burger and some fries and watch a game. That didn't happen exactly -- we sat at the one available table (the bar was too full) and there wasn't a TV in eyesight. And the burgers were much pricier than expected -- I got a blue cheese burger that was $9, and that's without fries! Fries were an additional $3. That being said, if you're willing to pay a little more than you usually would in a burger joint, the food is great. The burgers and fries are delicious. My friend got the sweet potato fries ($3.50) and said they were fantastic. We split a chocolate shake, and it was great. After getting past the initial turnoff that you're paying that much for the burger and it doesn't come with fries, I enjoyed my dinner. And the service was great!

"Well, that was probably the best burger I've ever eaten!" That's what I said after consuming all I could of the white truffle pecorino burger and truffle garlic herb fries (yes, there was a truffle theme here). I had really been craving an awesome burger, and I really got what I wanted! I am not sure if Big Orange takes reservations (I did some online research and couldn't find a way to do it online, but I didn't call to confirm). I knew it would be crowded at 7 p.m. on a Saturday night when we arrived, and I warned my husband he would have to wait for a table (he is impatient about restaurant wait times). When we arrived, two very efficient hostesses told us it would be 20 to 30 minutes for a table and they would find us if we wanted to wait in the few chairs in the entry or outside. I snagged two seats when a couple ahead of us were called, and we estimated we waited about 15 minutes. They have three seating areas: the regular dining room tables and chairs, bar tables and stools and outdoors. We were seated on stools in the bar at a small two-top bar table. Next time, I will probably stipulate that I DON'T want the bar, only because the stools are not that comfortable. Also, anywhere inside is LOUD. It was hard for us to hear each other speaking. But the restaurant feels very urbane and metropolitan ("Because everyone in the world is here!" my husband said). We skipped appetizers because we were just so eager for the burgers. As I mentioned, I got the white truffle and pecorino burger, which is dressed with Tuscan pecorino cheese, arugula, fig jam, and white truffle mayo ($11.50). The menu stipulates that all burgers are served medium well unless otherwise requested. I asked for medium. The burger was amazing, and the flavors of the accompaniments were just perfect together, with that little "sweet" from the figs, the fresh dark greens, the mild cheese and the delicious mayo on really good ground beef. My meat was pretty pink, which was fine for me, because I like it that way, but my husband's medium well burger was a little pink, so if you don't like pink ground beef, you will want to ask your server how to order it. He ordered the hickory smoke burger which comes with sharp cheddar cheese, smokey-sweet barbeque sauce, dill pickle, and fried onion strings ($7.50). He added bacon, as well. We split the fries. I had a glass of the Kaiken Cabernet (Argentina), which was reasonably priced and my husband had a chocolate malt ($3.50). One thing I really like about Big Orange uses beef from pasture-raised cattle (which I assume means not corn-fed, as cattle are not natural corn eaters), or if you like you can substitute ground turkey or a vegetarian patty for any of the burgers listed. They also have some deliciously described salads on their menu. Our service was very attentive and personable. Our waitress checked on everything that was brought to us, at least once, kept our small table cleared and followed up on every aspect of our meal. When we asked for the check, she read aloud from her handheld computer what was on our bill (but you don't get an itemized printout, so you can't see the final charge per item unless you ask, I'm sure, to see the handheld computer). She swiped my card then and there and came back with the receipts to sign and keep. This food was all seriously delicious and comforting and satisfying. And rich. We were so full when we left, and I predicted I would definitely want to come back, but given the excessive calories and the $50 tab for two people for burgers and fries (and wine, yes...), we figure we'll drop in three or four times a year, hopefully on a weeknight that will involve less waiting and less noise. But we will definitely be back. A burger experience like that is going to keep calling us like a siren song.

This place is WAY overrated. Had several people tell me it was going to be the most amazing burger ever. I was expecting some sort of mouthgasm, but it never came (get it? hahaha). Anyway. Went with a friend and we each had half of each other's burger so we could try 2. They were the caprese burger and the truffle burger. The caprese burger was better, but only because my favorite thing in the world is caprese. Truffle burger was dry. In fact, both burgers were dry and the buns aren't very good. The server was trying to tell me how special their buns are and that this is the only place I can get them. I responded that that was probably a good thing because they aren't good. Server was very nice though. Also had the truffle fries. $5 for a little bowl of crappy fries? They really weren't any different than normal fries. Nothing special. This place just seems like a pretentious overrated burger joint. If you care more about being seen at a pretentious place than eating a good burger, then you will probably love this place. If you want a good legit burger, go to David's. I'm glad Big Orange sources beef where the people are "nice" to the cow before they kill it and put it in a meat grinder, but it doesn't make the burger taste any better. Just sayin'.

Have been at least a dozen times. On a mission to order new burger with each trip till Ive tried every one. Only about 3 to go and I have not been disappointed yet! Culinary creativity at its best! The only reason I have any left on the list is that they now offer daily specials that I cannot turn down for fear of missing the chance. That is slowing down my mission. Sweet potatoe fries and sauce awesome!

I was in LR last week and had a chance to visit the latest concept creation from the owners of Zaza. Once again they have pretty much hit it out of the park. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table but thats pretty much to be expected for a new restaurant in LR. Once seated though, everything went very smooth. The beer selection is fantastic for a restaurant of this size in LR and the liquor selection looked equally impressive. I had a Sierra Nevada Torpedo and I ordered a Farmer burger medium rare. It probably leaned a little more to the rare side but did not bother me at all because it was REALLY good. Nice toasted buttery bun with the Petit Jean bacon and an egg to top it off. I used alot of napkins for this one. The fries are good and the salads, as with Zaza, looked great as well. Service was good even though the guy had his hands full on that night. You gotta check it out for something fun and different in WLR.

Guys, this is a place that you will regret NOT going to!! I have been a "Foody" since before being a foody was cool. Let me tell you about My #1 Burger- the White Truffle Pecorino Burger. This burger is a Symphony of flavors with the introductory Allegro being a unique "hybrid brioche" type of bun that gets your pallet ready for all of what the perfectly sweet, buttery bun envelopes. Next, the Adagio features the fresh, never frozen burger, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Then you get to my favorite part of a symphony, the Minuet. The sweetness of the fig jam perfectly compliments the bitter, peppery-ness of the arugula and the earthiness of the white truffle oil. As your burger experience comes to a close and the "food coma" takes over, you are left in the final movement. The sonata of this Burger Symphony is where you are left to remember all of your favorite flavors and the subtle nuances of taste you've experienced. In conclusion, from a guy who has eaten all over the country, this is my #1 burger!! You have to go down and see the awesome staff at The Big Orange, so you can experience one of their mind-blowing burgers for yourself.

Good burgers-nothing special. Seating VERY uncomfortable. Weird vibe-doesn't look like they know what they are......is it a bar? Is it a family oriented burger and shake place? Pick one and do it well.
